Spectacular Stampbord

Well, another week has passed...where do the days go? I've been busy with a birthday and a wedding or two...but have still managed to squeeze some crafting in! I was really taken with a project in September's issue of Craft Stamper so decided to have a go... and here is the result!

Take one plain and simple pine framed mirror (from Ikea), some black acrylic paint, and an assortment of Stampbord pieces. Add a generous helping of Distress Inks in your favourite colours (blended with cut'n'dry foam), choose which stamps you'd like to use and stamp with black Staz-On - I used a selection from Inkadinkadoo, Personal Impressions, Tim Holtz, Graphicus, Hampton Arts. Then get a scraperfoil tool and etch highlights to add detail and depth. Finally, arrange the pieces on the frame and attach with PVA glue.

It was great fun and surprisingly, didn't take that long to complete.

Wow Teresa! Another spectacular piece of work - looks even better up close. Glad to see you used your days off in an arty way.

Hello!!!

Thank you for looking at my blog! I love the frame, I too had a bit of a go at it, then realised I wasn't doing a good job. The bits of stampbord didn't go to waste though, they've been sanded back and will be used for Christmas!
